According to the Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC), the AEP100 liquid hydrogen-fueled turboprop engine, independently developed by the hydrogen aviation power team of the AECC Aero-engine Research Institute, recently completed ignition and performance debugging tests in a ground test environment. During the tests, all indicators of the engine and the liquid hydrogen transport system were normal, and the engine operated stably under all conditions, marking the first time in China that a megawatt-class liquid hydrogen-fueled aero-engine has met overall performance standards. Barclays pointed out that gas turbines are becoming the most critical constraint in AI power supply, with project cycles lasting four to five years from contract signing to full-load operation. Even after the delivery of large gas turbines, it often takes an additional 18 to 24 months of construction, debugging, and grid connection to truly establish stable and commercialized power generation capacity
