Amazon pays Italy 180 million euros to end tax, labour probe, sources say
Amazon's Italian unit paid 180 million euros to settle a probe into tax fraud and illegal labor practices. The settlement is part of a 1-billion-euro deal involving 33 companies, including DHL, FedEx, and UPS. The companies agreed to directly employ over 50,000 workers previously hired indirectly. The probe accused Amazon of circumventing labor and tax laws.
