Hungarian CATL factory to open in spring
CATL plans to start serial production at its battery factory in Debrecen, Hungary, by March or April next year, pending necessary permits. The factory, which has already produced 30,000 modules using cells from other CATL factories, aims to produce batteries for the European market with a range over 750 km. The workforce will increase from 1,000 to 1,500 employees. Environmental permits are pending, with significant reductions in emissions and resource use planned.
