COSCO SHIPPING Energy collaborates with Shell and Jiangnan Shipyard to sign a contract for the construction of 4 LNG car…
On June 25th, the signing ceremony for the project of four 175,000 cubic meter LNG carriers, a collaboration between COSCO SHIPPING Energy, Shell, and Jiangnan Shipyard, was held in Shanghai. The LNG carriers in this project adopt a new generation of large double-tail fin line innovative design, significantly enhancing the hydrodynamic performance of the vessels. They are equipped with the latest WinGD XDF 2.2 main engine, which primarily uses LNG as fuel, integrates iCER and VCR technology, and includes advanced equipment such as low methane slip generators, optimized shaft generators, and re-liquefaction systems. This setup not only reduces fuel consumption but also significantly decreases carbon emissions and methane slip, featuring low overall energy consumption, high low-temperature performance, and strong cargo capacity. Its technical performance, environmental indicators, and reliability all reach world-class levels
