I am largely bullish on U.S. natural gas in the long run, especially with the continued growth of shale production through horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing.
I believe the U.S. will continue to increase LNG exports as demand for natural gas grows in regions like Europe and Asia, especially with the heatwave currently ongoing and seasonal demand for heating at the end of the year.
As more countries look for reliable energy supplies and with Qatar’s LNG capacity constrained in the short- to middle-term (due to destruction of the Ras Laffan LNG facilities), U.S. LNG should play an increasingly important role in the global market.
Based on this view, I entered into Cheniere Energy and Venture Global, two of the largest U.S. LNG exporters, and I eagerly await the earnings report in the weeks to come.
