There are many sharing about the Hi5 portfolio online, but many don't specify the exact rules.
Below are the new rules for Hi5 modified yesterday. Of course, comrade LEI is being a bit of a Monday morning quarterback this time: the original rule was to invest when the S&P 500 index drops 1%, but this month it has already happened twice, yet he changed the rules again 😹.
The new rules for this portfolio are to increase holdings by about $10,000 per month, following these principles:
For the S&P 500 Equal Weight Index RSP, the first daily drop of -1% in a month triggers the scheduled increase for that month;
If condition 1 is not met in a month, then the scheduled increase is executed before the close on the third Friday of that month (regardless of market movement);
On the basis of meeting condition 1 or 2, if RSP drops -5% in a month, an additional scheduled increase is made;
After meeting condition 3, unless extreme human nature appears, no further increases are made that month;
Each increase is allocated equally among 5 ETFs, with the portfolio rebalanced and equally weighted every August.
