</figure><p><strong>A weekly series on memes, meme creators—and making jokes about the end times.</strong></p><p>A few days after quarantine started, Hannah Berner made a meme that she now regrets a bit, one of a tweet reading: “I don’t know what’s worse, the spreading of Coronavirus or people being forced to be alone with their own thoughts?”</p><p>“When I posted that at first, I was like, ‘This is hilarious!’ But this was before people were getting really sick,” she says. “Now I look at it, and I see it as a little tone deaf. But I love to honestly talk about mental health. I do think that we have to address that. It's something that a lot of people are having a really difficult time with.”</p><p>Her audience seems to get where she’s coming from: @beingbernz, the Instagram meme page she created three years ago, is now close to 320,000 followers. And “Instagram is just one part of my different mediums,” she says.
