The "Regulations on the Management of Electric Bicycles in Guangzhou" will come into effect on December 30, 2024. A relevant person in charge from the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Brigade stated that after the implementation of the new regulations, Guangzhou traffic police will manage electric bicycles used in service industries such as food delivery and express delivery with special license plates, and specific management measures will be introduced. The relevant license plates will be applied for by the respective companies and will only be used by their employees. To ensure that the work and income of delivery personnel are not affected by speed limit regulations, the traffic police department will work with the market supervision department to discuss with delivery platforms, urging them to optimize algorithms, relax delivery times, and fulfill legal and social responsibilities. Currently, there are 10 major delivery platforms in Guangzhou, all of which have established daily communication and coordination mechanisms. (CCTV News)
