African Stock Market | South African stock index fell more than 0.8%, Prosus and Naspers fell by up to about 0.4%

On Thursday (January 23), the South African FTSE/JSE Africa Top 40 Index closed down 0.83% at 75,640.24 points. The constituent stock Sasol (SOL.SJ) fell 4.67% leading the decline, Indlulamithi (INL) dropped 2.23%, Standard Bank Group (SBK) fell 1.92% ranking ninth in decline, Prosus decreased by 0.39% ranking tenth, Naspers (NPN) fell 0.25%, and Richemont (CFR) rose 1.4% ranking second, British American Tobacco (BTI) increased by 1.62%. The South African Rand is currently down 0.34% against the US dollar, trading at 18.55 Rand, continuing the trend of "a sustained rebound since falling to 19.2296 Rand on January 13" on the daily chart. The Mauritius Stock Exchange SEMDEX Index closed up 0.38%, the Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index closed down 0.05%, and the Nairobi Stock Exchange All Share Index in Kenya closed up 0.53%
