After exploring AI technology for two to three years, on March 18, as a leading mattress company in China, DERUCCI clearly proposed the &#34;All in AI&#34; strategy, aiming to transform from a &#34;global integrator of quality sleep resources&#34; to the &#34;largest global provider of intelligent health sleep solutions,&#34; redefining products with AI technology.
This not only concerns the development direction of a single enterprise but also signifies that the entire mattress industry is about to undergo profound changes.
The wave of AI is providing opportunities for reshuffling across various industries. For DERUCCI, focusing on AI products can not only strengthen its high-end brand image but also help open new market space in the global market.
Transformation
For DERUCCI, this transformation is a difficult yet correct path chosen for the future.
Faced with sluggish growth in the traditional mattress industry, AI has long been an important strategy for DERUCCI. Since 2023, DERUCCI has intensively launched multiple AI-related products.
On March 18, at the global launch event for DERUCCI's new products themed &#34;Deep AI Sleep New Revolution,&#34; DERUCCI Group Chief Operating Officer You Jia stated that All In AI is the solid foundation built over more than twenty years, and in the future, DERUCCI will focus on creating a new gene to become an innovation-driven high-tech enterprise in five years.
Against this backdrop, DERUCCI also launched the 2025 AI smart mattress T11+. It is reported that this mattress is equipped with a data model based on over 1 million real ergonomic data.
DERUCCI Group Chief Technology Officer Chen Wenze introduced that the flagship new product T11+ will bring three major enhancements: tidal algorithm evolution, AI sleep experience evolution, and AI sleep ecology evolution.
The T11+ is equipped with third-generation piezoelectric ceramic high-precision sensors, which can achieve &#34;subtle&#34; improvements in users' sleep conditions under the support of tidal algorithm 2.0.
According to authoritative evaluations conducted by the China Sleep Research Society in conjunction with eight major units, users of the DERUCCI T11+ product can experience an average sleep onset speed improvement of nearly 50%, a 14.6% reduction in average turning frequency, and a 38% increase in average sleep duration, significantly enhancing the healthy sleep index.
In the long run, DERUCCI's AI transformation initiatives mainly consist of four major measures.
First, on the product side, DERUCCI's vision for &#34;good&#34; products is to reconstruct the interaction between people and mattresses through the interdisciplinary integration of biosensing, smart materials, medical knowledge, and AI technology, completing the full-link protection from pressure distribution to health intervention without user awareness.
Why does DERUCCI dare to propose such a product vision? You Jia stated, &#34;Because we have found a solution, which is to create intelligent products using a three-layer architecture of intelligent sensing, dynamic adjustment, and AI decision-making, and this can be continuously iterated and upgraded.&#34;
Secondly, in terms of ecological construction, DERUCCI is actively building an interactive ecosystem 2.0, collaborating with multiple companies such as Huawei and Xiaomi to integrate various advantageous resources and expand development space.
Channel expansion is also an important part of DERUCCI's AI strategy. In addition to traditional retail spaces, DERUCCI has partnered with renovation companies to enter commercial complexes and promote through online platforms, reaching consumers comprehensively.
Finally, DERUCCI emphasizes the transformation of organizational capabilities. Jia pointed out: &#34;The transformation of organizational capabilities is a difficult yet correct thing for us. With the arrival of AI technology, our company has a 2.0 opportunity, and healthy sleep has the potential for a 2.0 product, so we must prepare ourselves. The transformation of organizational capabilities is what we value the most, and we will increase our investment.&#34;
Specifically, DERUCCI will increase R&amp;D investment, upgrade talent teams, adapt culture, encourage trial and error, and adhere to long-termism to provide solid support for the implementation of the AI strategy.
Future
AI is redefining the relationship between people and sleep, and as an indispensable product in the sleep industry, AI smart beds will undoubtedly have broad market prospects in the future, which is also an important reason for DERUCCI's firm transformation.
DERUCCI, in collaboration with the China Sleep Research Society, released the &#34;2025 AI Era Healthy Sleep White Paper,&#34; which shows that 62% of respondents are experiencing sleep difficulties. Sleep disturbances are evolving from &#34;common troubles&#34; to moderate to severe &#34;chronic diseases,&#34; with the average sleep duration of the public decreasing from 7.02 to 6.67 hours.
More and more consumers are accustomed to using external forces to aid sleep, but 60% of consumers are not interested in traditional sleep aid products. Correspondingly, nearly 70% of consumers expressed their willingness to purchase AI smart mattresses in the future.
Nick Littlehales, former president of the British Sleep Association, stated at the DERUCCI press conference that we have now reached a stage where AI technology is changing the sleep industry at an unprecedented speed. By 2033, the global sleep technology market is expected to grow from $20.5 billion to $64.7 billion.
Tu Yiting, chief analyst of the light industry at Shanghai Shenwan Hongyuan Securities Research Institute, pointed out that the traditional mattress industry is a market with a scale of hundreds of billions. Compared to traditional mattresses, smart mattresses have a value increase of 3-5 times, and the entire smart mattress and related ecological chain will definitely be a trillion-level market.
Facing such a promising market, there are currently many domestic and foreign players entering the AI smart bed sector. In addition to DERUCCI, there are also Serta, Mengbaihe, Xilinmen, Haier, Yalan, Heka, and others.
However, the current development of smart beds is still in a very early stage.
Tu Yiting believes that the current market penetration rate of smart beds is completely from 0 to 1, or very close to 0. When the penetration rate is between 0 and 10, it is relatively a slow process, while the stage from 10 to 50 is a rapid ascent process.
Regarding the main challenges to the current increase in smart bed penetration rates, Chen Wenze pointed out to Wall Street Journal that there are two major challenges: the first is consumer acceptance of such products, and the second is product capability issues
In terms of consumer acceptance, Chen Wenze stated that mattresses are durable goods, and many families do not replace them for 8-10 years. However, DERUCCI hopes to transform mattresses into consumer goods through continuous technological iteration and product development, encouraging people to consider replacing them every 3-5 years. In Western countries, the replacement cycle for mattresses is about 3-5 years, and the general public treats mattresses as consumables.
From the perspective of product strength, how to effectively address some of the users' pain points is something that DERUCCI and other players need to consider. Chen Wenze admitted, &#34;We have conducted many interviews, but found that many users respond very vaguely to sleep issues and pain points. We need to use more professional methods to dig out these pain points and problems and design targeted solutions.&#34;
From traditional mattress giants to today's pioneers of AI mattresses, DERUCCI still has a long way to go if it wants to continue to lead the market in the future.
