Lion Electric school bus warranties voided, leaving districts stuck

Lion Electric has voided warranties on hundreds of electric school buses, affecting districts outside Quebec. This decision, communicated by Deloitte Restructuring, leaves many school districts, like Herscher CUSD No. 2 in Illinois, with stranded assets and costly repairs. Superintendent Dr. Richard Decman noted that six out of their 25 Lion buses require repairs, forcing the district to seek alternative vendors at their own expense. Lion buses make up half of Herscher's fleet, which was partially funded by state and utility incentives.
