At the 2025 Green Energy Development Conference held in Yichang, Hubei, the launch and naming ceremony of China's largest 10,000-ton pure electric bulk carrier was held, officially named "Gezhouba." The vessel has now entered the outfitting stage. It is reported that the "Gezhouba" pure electric bulk carrier is nearly 130 meters long, with a maximum deadweight of over 13,000 tons. The ship is equipped with 12 lithium battery box power sources as its power source, with a total power capacity of 24,000 kilowatt-hours, supporting fast battery swapping, and a range of up to 500 kilometers
