The batteries are designed for large-scale renewable energy projects, helping to stabilize power grids and store electricity when solar and wind generation dip.</p> <p>Under a tax abatement agreement with Waller County Commissioners Court, Tesla has committed to employing at least 375 workers at the Brookshire site by the end of 2026, growing that number to 750 by the end of 2027 and 1,500 by the end of 2028. The company must maintain that employment level through 2036 as part of a 10-year abatement period. </p> <p>The new facility is located in Empire West Business Park, where Tesla leases two massive buildings totaling more than 1.6 million square feet. The company plans to invest about $44 million in building improvements and another $150 million in advanced manufacturing equipment — including robotic welding cells, automated conveyors, and assembly lines. A second, 616,000-square-foot structure will serve as a warehouse and distribution hub once completed.</p>   </div></div>
