In fact, according to Coresight Research, retailers vacated 120 million square feet of retail space this year as a result of store closures and bankruptcies.</p><p>Some of the stores that have closed include big-name retailers consumers have depended on for years. And, a 77-year-old furniture retailer is now among those stores.</p><p>The furniture retailer operates in 17 states. (ASI). ASI is the parent company of two very well-known furniture retailers:</p><ul><li>American Signature Furniture</li><li>Value City Furniture</li></ul><p>In total, the company has 120 stores in the 17 states where it operates. Value City is located in more states than American Signature Furniture and has stores in:</p><ul><li>Illinois</li><li>Indiana</li><li>Kentucky</li><li>Maryland</li><li>Michigan</li><li>Missouri</li><li>North Carolina</li><li>New York</li><li>Ohio</li><li>Pennsylvania</li><li>West Virginia</li></ul><p>American Signature also has physical locations in a number of states, including:</p><ul><li>Delaware</li><li>Florida</li><li>Georgia</li><li>Tennessee</li></ul><p>ASI’s 120 total physical locations represent significantly fewer stores than other major furniture retailers, like La-Z-Boy, which has 2,571 locations, and Mattress Firm, which has 2,373 locations, according to the data company ScrapeHero.</p><p><strong>Related: 'Disgusted' Dollar Tree worker speaks out on controversial policy</strong></p><p>Still, Value City Furniture and American Signature Furniture are household names, and RocketReach reported that Value City Furniture alone had over 1,300 employees and received more than two million web visits.</p><h2>Complete list of Value City Furniture stores closing after bankruptcy</h2><p>American Signature Furniture Inc. has announced that it hopes to restructure in its bankruptcy, rather than shutting down entirely. According to a statement, it’s hoping to sell its assets to stalking-horse bidder ASI Purchaser LLC.</p><p>Still, it is closing many stores.</p><p>Based on court filings, the company’s website listing store closures, and <span>previous announcements</span>, the list of stores that will close includes the following locations spread across 14 states.</p><p>The Value City furniture stores that will be closing include the following locations.</p><h3>Illinois</h3><ul><li>6116 Grand Ave. in Gurnee</li></ul><h3>Indiana</h3><ul><li>945 E.
