Tesla opens new V4 Supercharger in North Edmonton [Alberta]

Tesla has officially opened a new Supercharger in north Edmonton, the first V4 site in the city and the fifth site in the province of Alberta featuring Tesla’s latest charging technology. This Supercharger was first spotted in September when Tesla began construction at Clareview Town Centre, near 42 Street in northeast Edmonton. At the time, the build was notable for using Tesla’s latest V4 Supercharger hardware, which features longer charging cables and updated stall designs. Construction was completed relatively quickly, but the opening was delayed due to a wait for the transformer and meter to be installed. After a more than two month wait, the Supercharger was finally energized and opened to customers late last night. The new station includes 12 V4 Supercharger stalls and is capable of delivering charging speeds of up to 325 kW, making it one of the faster public DC charging options currently available in the Edmonton area. As with other V4 installations in Canada, the Edmonton site is accessible to non-Tesla EVs using a compatible NACS adapter. The site offers time-of-use pricing, with overnight rates at $0.43/kWh for Tesla owners, and up to $0.62/kWh during daytime peak hours. Credit: Tesla In terms of layout, the station includes 11 back-in stalls, along with a single pull-in stall, which can be particularly useful for vehicles towing trailers or carrying rear-mounted accessories such as bike racks. This is a design element Tesla has increasingly incorporated into newer Supercharger sites. Tesla has one other Alberta Supercharger currently under construction in Wandering River. The company also has two others planned for Fort McMurray and Lethbridge, along with Supercharger Voting winning sites coming to Banff and Lake Louise.
