LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

After the Christmas holiday, the Hong Kong stock market reopened, with the Hang Seng Index opening up 109 points at 25,928 points. Technology stocks generally rose, but Xiaomi fell 1.4% due to Vice Chairman Lin Bin's plan to reduce his shareholding. UBTECH ROBOTICS plans to acquire 43% of Fenglong's shares, with its stock price rising 7.2%. Analyst Guo Sizhi holds an optimistic view on the Hong Kong stock market's performance next year, expecting the Hang Seng Index to stabilize at the 26,000-point level this year

Hong Kong stocks today (29th) resumed trading after the Christmas holiday, with only two and a half trading days left until the end of the year. During the holiday period, the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets and the renminbi strengthened, with the Shanghai Composite Index recording eight consecutive rises, and the offshore renminbi briefly surpassing the "7" mark, reaching a 15-month high. However, U.S. stocks slightly closed lower after the holiday. Analysts suggest that the strength of the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets and the renminbi is expected to benefit Hong Kong stocks, with the Hang Seng Index likely to approach or stabilize around the 26,000-point mark by year-end.

The Hang Seng Index opened 109 points higher this morning, reporting 25,928 points. Tech stocks generally rose, with Alibaba (9988) up 0.75%; Tencent (700) up 0.5%; Meituan (3690) up 0.8%; JD.com (9618) up 0.5%; and Baidu (9888) up 1.3%. However, Xiaomi (1810) received a notification from co-founder and vice chairman Lin Bin about a plan to reduce holdings of no more than USD 2 billion, approximately HKD 15.5 billion; the stock opened at HKD 38.68, down 1.4%.

Amidst the frenzy in precious metals, Luoyang Molybdenum (3993) opened over 4% higher; South Manganese (1091) rose 3.9%; China Silver (815) rose 2.8%; Zijin Mining (2899) rose 2.3%; however, Zijin Gold International (2259) fell 0.3%.

UBTECH ROBOTICS plans to acquire nearly 1.7 billion yuan in shares of mainland listed companies

In individual stock news, UBTECH ROBOTICS (9880) plans to acquire a total of 43% equity in Fenglong Co., Ltd. (002931) for a total cash consideration of 1.665 billion yuan, to be paid using internal resources, to accelerate the development and commercialization of its humanoid robots; the stock opened at HKD 117.4, up 7.2%.

Guo Sizhi: Optimistic about Hong Kong stock trends next year

Guo Sizhi, vice chairman of the Hong Kong Stock Analysts Association, pointed out that there are currently no black swan events or negative news in the Hong Kong stock market, and the Hang Seng Index is firmly above the 10-day and 20-day moving averages. He expects that as long as buying interest is slightly active, and with A-shares possibly challenging the 4,000-point mark today, it will have a positive effect on Hong Kong stocks, with the Hang Seng Index likely to further approach or stabilize around the 26,000-point mark by year-end. As for next year's trends, he noted that it will be necessary to observe the market's attitude towards capital entering the market early next year, but he personally holds a relatively optimistic view on the trends of Hong Kong stocks next year.

Lu Bingjun: Expecting a narrow trading range

Independent analyst Lu Bingjun stated that many funds have already closed their positions, and he expects that Hong Kong stocks will maintain a narrow trading range in the remaining trading days. The upper limit for the Hang Seng Index this year may be in the range of 26,000 to 26,200 points, and in the absence of positive news, this range may still become a resistance level for Hong Kong stocks in the first week of next year.

He continued to point out that as the valuation of Hong Kong stocks has returned from a low level to a reasonable level, and the hype surrounding Chinese AI company DeepSeek has led to a surge in Chinese AI tech stocks, Hong Kong stocks have accumulated significant gains this year. However, the positive news from the Chinese AI boom has gradually been digested by the market since the second half of this year, and with a lack of new catalysts for tech stocks, it is estimated that the likelihood of a significant drop in Hong Kong stocks next year is low, but the overall trend may not be as strong as this year

Silver and Platinum Not Suitable for High Pursuit in the Short Term

Precious metals such as gold and platinum have repeatedly reached new highs during the holidays. Lu Bingjun pointed out that he personally believes that gold and other precious metals still have room for long-term growth, with gold even having the opportunity to test the $5,000 level. However, metals like silver and platinum have seen excessive short-term gains, and when they adjust, the declines in related stocks may also be very severe. It is recommended that investors looking to deploy in this sector should not chase high prices in the short term and should at least wait for a correction before considering buying, but they should avoid being overly greedy.

Guo Sizhi also pointed out that in the current clear upward trend of precious metals, investors are advised to adopt a wait-and-see or trend-following long strategy.

Powell's Successor May Be Announced This Week

Looking ahead to this week, as the New Year approaches, A-shares, Hong Kong stocks, U.S. stocks, and Japanese and Korean markets will be closed for the New Year's holiday, with Hong Kong stocks also closing early on the 31st. In terms of data, important economic data such as the manufacturing PMI for China and the U.S., and the number of initial jobless claims in the U.S. for the week of December 27 will be released this week. At the same time, the latest minutes from the Federal Reserve's meeting will also be published this week, and the market will look for information on future interest rate trends in the minutes. Additionally, the successor to Federal Reserve Chairman Powell may be revealed this week, and "Oracle of Omaha" Warren Buffett will officially step down as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.

Furthermore, this week will also see the last batch of new stocks listed this year. Six new stocks, including Woan Robotics (6600), Xunce (3317), Yingsi Intelligent (3696), Meilian Holdings (2671), Linqingxuan (2657), and Wuyi Shijie (6651), will begin trading in the dark market after today's close and will ring the bell together on Tuesday (30th)
