OpenAI reportedly plans to establish a second robotics laboratory
According to a report by Business Insider on Thursday, OpenAI established a humanoid robot laboratory again last year, currently employing about 100 people who teach robots to do household chores through remote-controlled robotic arms.
OpenAI closed its robotics project in 2020, stating that the team's focus had shifted to other projects. The insider revealed that the robotics laboratory has expanded more than four times since its launch in February last year. In December, OpenAI informed employees that the company plans to open a second robotics laboratory in Richmond, California.
The report stated that last week, OpenAI also issued a proposal invitation to U.S. manufacturers, seeking partners to assist in entering consumer devices, robotics technology, and cloud data centers
