CTIHK expands tobacco leaf export business to new regions
China Tobacco International (06055.HK) announced that it has signed a "Framework Agreement for the Export of Tobacco Leaf Products to New Regions" with its related party China Tobacco International (North America), and revised the annual cap for related continuous transactions, aiming to support the company's expansion of tobacco leaf product exports in new regions.
The company plans to increase the annual cap for related transactions for the year ending December 31, 2026, and for the period ending November 26, 2027. China Tobacco International (North America) is a subsidiary of China National Tobacco Corporation, which holds approximately 72.29% of the company's issued share capital through its wholly-owned subsidiary, making it a related party. The company stated that this revision is due to the increasing international demand for tobacco leaf products in non-exclusive operating regions, as well as the company's ongoing strategy to expand the scale of its export business. According to the framework agreement, the company will procure tobacco leaf products from related sellers and then resell and export them to new regional markets
