PayMe will stop the "Friends" dynamic feature next month, and transaction records will no longer be publicly displayed
According to the Hong Kong Economic Journal, HSBC's electronic wallet PayMe has notified customers that it will stop the "Friends" dynamic feature on the 13th of next month, but users can still view their own payment records in the "My Account" feature. This arrangement means that in the future, payment records between PayMe friends will no longer be displayed.
Last month, reports indicated that the Office of the Privacy Commissioner was investigating PayMe, primarily focusing on the risk of personal data (such as transaction records) being exposed due to default settings for early users. It is understood that the Privacy Office has completed its inquiry and there will be no further action
