Risen Energy is advancing the production of ultra-thin silicon wafers for heterojunction (HJT) solar cells, emphasizing their lightweight, high power output, radiation resistance, and long-term reliability. A recent white paper outlines the benefits of reducing wafer thickness to lower costs and improve efficiency, achieving an average efficiency of 26.4% with 110 µm wafers. Innovations in production processes have led to a yield rate above 99.5% with minimal damage. The company is also exploring applications for space photovoltaics, capable of producing wafers thinner than 70 µm, and has developed a new low-stress interconnection technology for these thin cells.
