Starting March 20, the app showed message of errors in login to its user. Onus Pro, with over seven million users, is headquartered in Singapore and founded by Tran Quang Chien, a Vietnamese citizen, in 2020. Initially, the platform supplied VNDC stablecoin and later added trading functions. The United States-based Vemanti Group, which holds the full ownership of Onus Pro, said in a press release last Saturday that it experienced a significant service disruption affecting users’ ability to access their accounts and funds. As a parent holding company without direct access to the platform’s systems, Vemanti Group is unable to intervene directly on behalf of affected users. On Monday, Vietnam-based HVA Group, a strategic investor in Onus Pro, said its app cannot conduct money withdrawal activities as some devices are already confiscated by the authorities for verification. According to the United States-based blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, the value of cryptocurrency transactions in Vietnam is estimated at $220-230 billion from July 2024 to June 2025, averaging more than $600 million per day.
