
"Economics" German wholesale prices in March rose 4.1% year-on-year, the highest increase in three years
According to data from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, wholesale prices in Germany rose by 4.1% year-on-year in March 2026, significantly higher than the 1.2% increase in the previous three months, marking the fastest increase since February 2023. This was mainly driven by a 17.8% rise in oil product prices and a 48.4% increase in the prices of non-ferrous ores, non-ferrous metals, and related semi-finished products.
On a monthly basis, wholesale prices increased by 2.7%, rebounding from a 0.6% increase in February, exceeding the market estimate of a 0.4% increase
