The yield on UK-issued 10-year government bonds hit a high not seen since the global financial crisis, drawing a record number of buyers. These investors aim to lock in yields, as rates could fall if the war in the Middle East ends. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, the syndicated issuance of UK bonds maturing in 2036 raised a record £15 billion ($20.3 billion) and attracted investor subscriptions totaling £148 billion, the highest ever.
