
VinaCapital selected to co-lead HCM City venture capital fund

VinaCapital has been selected to co-lead the newly launched Ho Chi Minh City Venture Investment Fund, aimed at enhancing the startup ecosystem in Vietnam. Officially launched on April 17, 2026, the fund has an initial capital of VNĐ500 billion (US$19 million), with 40% contributed by the city government and the rest by founding shareholders including VinaCapital. The fund will focus on Series A and B funding, prioritizing core technologies and green solutions, and aims to position HCM City as a leading technology hub. VinaCapital's CEO emphasized the initiative's role in bridging the funding gap for startups and fostering an innovation-led economy.
