Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways have increased fuel surcharges in advance, with round-trip fares from Japan to Hong Kong rising to over HKD 1,400
Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) originally planned to raise the fuel surcharge for international routes starting in June, but due to recent fuel price increases exceeding expectations, both airlines announced that they would advance the fuel surcharge increase to May 1. Among them, the fare for flights between Japan and Hong Kong will rise to over HKD 700 per trip.
For long-haul routes, the fuel surcharge increase for round trips to Europe and North America is the highest. All Nippon Airways will raise it by approximately HKD 1,180 to JPY 56,000, equivalent to about HKD 2,740, while Japan Airlines will increase it by JPY 27,000, equivalent to about HKD 1,321, to JPY 56,000
