The market opened high and closed low throughout the day, with all three major indices falling collectively. The BSE 50 Index dropped about 3%. The green power concept remained actively volatile, with stocks such as Energy Conservation Wind Power, Green Power Electricity, and Guangxi Energy hitting the daily limit. The gas turbine concept strengthened against the trend, with stocks including Shuifa Gas, Fuan Shares, and Zhongyuan Internal Combustion Engine Parts hitting the daily limit. Consumer stocks led by liquor rebounded, with stocks such as Yingjia Gongjiu, Qianwei Central Kitchen, and Zhongxing Commercial hitting the daily limit. On the downside, the non-ferrous metals sector declined, with China Rare Earth Nonferrous Metals hitting the limit down. Computing hardware stocks such as CPO adjusted, with Saimei Microelectronics and Dongtian Micro falling more than 10%. More stocks fell than rose, with over 4,000 stocks declining across the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing exchanges. Today's turnover exceeded 2.82 trillion. By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.32%, the Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.88%, and the ChiNext Index fell 0.87%.
