MIIT: China's Average Monthly Data Usage per Household Hits Record High of 23.4GB in March

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, telecom service revenue accumulated to 439.4 billion yuan in the first quarter, down 1.8% year-on-year. The total volume of telecom business, calculated at constant prices of the previous year, increased by 8.3% compared to the same period last year. Mobile internet traffic grew rapidly, with the DOU value reaching a record high in March. In the first quarter, cumulative mobile internet traffic reached 104.4 billion GB, up 19.1% year-on-year. As of the end of March, the number of mobile internet users reached 1.623 billion, a net increase of 13.48 million households compared to the end of the previous year. The average monthly mobile internet access traffic per household (DOU) in March alone reached 23.4GB per household per month, up 13.8% year-on-year and 0.36GB per household per month higher than the end of the previous year.
