PPC plans 34 fast-charging sites in Greece and Romania

It is no coincidence that PPC, as Greece’s electricity supplier, is also planning charging points in Romania. In 2023, the company acquired Enel Romania, a Romanian operator of charging infrastructure that was previously part of the Italian Enel Group.The recently announced expansion is backed by EU funding of up to €3.42 million. This investment is supported through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). It is part of the ‘Extended Electric Route Eastern Europe – BlueRoute 4E’ project, which aims to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in Europe and support the decarbonisation of transport across the trans-European transport network (TEN-T).Under the PPC blue brand, 106 charging points will be installed across 34 locations in both countries. All sites will be located no more than three kilometres from a TEN-T motorway exit. With an average of 3.1 charging points per site, most locations will feature a single charging station with two charging points, while some will have two stations with four charging points.
