<div id="readability-page-1"><div>The Swedish carmaker unveiled the EX60 in New York City, with customer deliveries in the US expected to begin later this year. Initially, buyers can configure the P6 and P10 AWD variants, while the more powerful P12 AWD version will follow at a later stage.According to Volvo, the EX60 is the brand’s longest-range electric vehicle to date. The future P12 AWD variant is expected to deliver up to 400 miles of range on the EPA cycle, while the P10 AWD offers up to 322 miles and the entry-level P6 up to 307 miles.The EX60 is based on Volvo’s new SPA3 electric platform, which introduces technologies including cell-to-body battery integration, in-house developed electric motors, a new battery cell design and megacasting. Volvo says the platform has been designed to improve scalability, manufacturing efficiency and cost optimisation, while also enabling the EX60 to achieve the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo model to date, matching the smaller EX30.The SPA3 architecture uses an 800-volt electrical system, enabling charging rates of up to 370 kW. Volvo states that the EX60 can add up to 173 miles of range in ten minutes under optimal conditions. Charging from ten to 80 per cent is quoted at 16 minutes for the P6 and P10 AWD versions and 19 minutes for the future P12 AWD.The EX60 is also the first Volvo model equipped with a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing direct access to Tesla’s Supercharger network in the US without the need for an adapter. The carmaker first gained access to the Tesla network in 2024.At launch, the EX60 P6 Plus starts at %58,400, while the P10 AWD Plus is priced from $60,750. Higher-spec Ultra variants are also available.Volvo also recently launched the electric SUV in Canada, where it will initially offer only the P10 variant. The EX60 is the manufacturer’s first model in the mid-size electric SUV segment.In March,Volvo Cars announced that demand was so high that it was considering keeping the plant in Sweden open for an extra week during the summer to get the EV to its customers.
