First of all kudos for not giving up and staying invested through the setbacks and learning from them! One question I have for you is what are the challenges you have faced in learning accounting? How can accounting be applied not only in investing/trading but also in the corporate world? (Especially as you mentioned you graduated from engineering) From your own experience, what type of opportunities can one look out for in terms of career switch and even for overseas opportunities?

Nvidia is still the primary force moving forward, at least in the next few years. The share price may be moving slowly but definitely one of the more stable stocks that u can hold without worrying too much.

$Oracle(ORCL.US)

Context: Oracle paired a rising restructuring bill with an aggressive data-center buildout as it races to turn enormous AI demand into actual cash flow. The restructuring program has now climbed by another $700 million to roughly $2.8 billion, covering severance, contract exits and other costs tied to reshaping the business. That is a meaningful expense against quarterly revenue of $19.35 billion. At the same time, Oracle added about 850 megawatts of data-center capacity during the latest quarter. The catch is cash generation: free cash flow remained around negative $5 billion as infrastructure spending continued to run hard.

My Trade: Started a small position first in Oracle as it pulled back post earnings. Personally think this has to be a mid to long term hold before profits (hopefully) can be materialised as their balance sheet is still the biggest concern.

Takeaway: The bull case rests on what comes next. Oracle signed more than $30 billion of additional AI-cloud contracts, pushing remaining performance obligations to a massive $664 billion. Management argues that those commitments can be supported within its existing capital plan because some customers can prepay or contribute chips. That makes the restructuring more than simple cost cutting. It can help Oracle absorb the near-term cash burden. But the real test is straightforward: converting that gigantic backlog into profitable cloud revenue fast enough to justify the infrastructure bill. @Captain's Treasure

I think it's great that the stock market has stabilised even after rate hike, with most of the negativity having already priced in the past few trading days leading up to FED's decision. FED's stance looked really firm for the first time since Warsh took over, with clear signals that there might be a really good chance of 1 more hike come end of year.

I think a 25basis point rate hike is reasonable, given the emergence of a second war in middle east and continued tension between US and Iran. This affects headline inflation as WTI continues to spike. However, on the flipside, Trump's pressure for a rate cut can lead to Warsh holding also. Overall I think dissenting votes would remain the same while Warsh might raise slightly to ease inflation but not overdo it to agitate Trump.

$Meta Platforms(META.US)

Context: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has pushed back on the ongoing AI slowdown narrative. Rather, he said AI developers should rely on independent safety evaluators to test their models. Zuckerberg's comments came three days after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called on AI companies to slow the pace of model development. Amodei's comments followed warnings from several researchers about the potential risks of advanced AI. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and xAI CEO Elon Musk also backed Amodei's call within hours. Zuckerberg said AI companies should focus on building trust and keeping their models aligned with users as AI capabilities continue to improve. "There is a lot of debate about slowing progress on capabilities until alignment catches up. My view is that trust and alignment are quickly becoming the most important capabilities that will differentiate agents and models," he added. He cited Meta's decision to delay the launch of its Muse AI agent earlier this year to improve its security.

My Trade: Already trimmed some of my position previously, now just holding out and waiting for it to drop back to 600 and below to buy back.

Takeaway: This whole 'slowdown of AI' situation just seemed like Good Cop Bad Cop to me. The potential dangers of rapid AI development are real; but at the same time these AI leaders still have profit maximising as their main goal. It feels like some are taking the responsibility to acknowledge the widespread concern while others assert assurance afterwards. Regardless of their stance, this is the new era and we have to all stay diligent. @Captain's Treasure

Broadcom still falling and is currently down for the year despite solid revenue growth and slightly "below expectations" guidance, though I think it's more of inflated market expectations than Broadcom not delivering. I think this could be one worth to watch, especially if the broader market continues to fall even more during the September-October period, which is typically the weaker period of the year for stocks.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)

Context: President Donald Trump called Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang live on speakerphone at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles on Monday to dismiss growing concerns about AI regulation proposals. During the five-minute call, Trump dismissed fears of an existential AI takeover as a "hoax." and said robots are not going to take over the world. He argued that slowing U.S. tech development or adding heavy rules on data centers would only help foreign rivals like China. While Trump noted the U.S. must proceed "prudently," he emphasized that "that doesn't mean we're going to stop an industry." Huang agreed with the president, saying the U.S. can lead in AI while staying safe.

My Trade: I saw the dip as an opportunity to add to my existing position, though with an initial smaller size first as many anticipate a rate hike and stock prices to fall further. If Nvidia breaks recent resistance levels, I'm targeting a $190 next.

Takeaway: Although AI leaders like Anthropic and OpenAI called for a slower progression of AI, I doubt the spending of AI will slow down significantly anytime soon. I'm betting on the slower but more steady growth of Nvidia. @Captain's Treasure

Today is going to bleed for most stocks, especially the tech and AI sector. Rate hike odds have skyrocketed to almost a 90% probability since last week's release of hot PPI and CPI. I foresee a bit more of a pullback to end this week and the next possibly, depending on how hot tonight's CPI would be. STI Index on the other hand is still a little high for my liking, but it has been dropping for a few days do let's see.

Singapore stocks continue to fall, a 3rd day in a row, which is interesting given how strong and stable our local market has been this year. Nonetheless, rising inflation and increased rate hike possibilities all contributed to the temporary decline, and to be honest, this is a slight pullback compared to how much the stocks have ran in the past 8 months.

A foldable iPhone... how impressive could it be? Apple's first foldable phone years after other rival brands and even Chinese brands have already debuted them. The biggest concern is the price point for such a phone - over 2k. Is it really worth paying that much especially with memory driving up normal phones' pricing already? Despite all that, I believe the loyal customers of Apple will still support the new product

$Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US)

Context: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and ASML announced a collaborative initiative to lead the semiconductor industry’s transition to a larger-format Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography photomask. While High NA EUV will be adopted for production using the current, 6-inch masks, the transition to larger, 12-inch masks is expected to further increase fab productivity, lower chipmaking costs and remove stitching constraints, benefiting the entire semiconductor industry. It will enable advanced chip manufacturers to fully leverage the advantages of High NA EUV, making future generations of leading-edge chips more cost-effective.

My Trade: Dollar cost averaging into one of the strongest stock in the Taiwan market. Collaboration with the Monopoly giant ASML further strengthens TSM's position in the sector.

Takeaway: TSMC intends to use ASML’s High NA technology in high-volume manufacturing for advanced nodes starting in 2030. As technology nodes advance, TSMC expects the number of layers requiring High NA EUV will rise, driven primarily by the increasingly complex transistor architectures required for AI applications. @Captain's Treasure
