Hong Kong has three priority initiatives. First, enhance competitiveness and improve the stock market. Hong Kong has been doing this over the past year, supporting emerging markets. At the same time, it is committed to improving the issuance framework for structured products and exploring local cooperation opportunities for some products. Hong Kong is also improving trading efficiency and risk management. Last year, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing conducted strategic cooperation to operate the central settlement system for debt instruments. Through this cooperation, the development of Hong Kong's post-trade securities infrastructure has been accelerated, moving towards becoming a major central securities depository platform in the region. Second, strengthen other parts of the capital market. There are two strategic directions. First, reinforce Hong Kong's traditional advantages, such as asset management, wealth management, fixed income, and money markets. Second, develop new growth areas, such as commodities. Two days ago, Hong Kong signed a cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Gold Exchange to promote the high-quality development of the Hong Kong gold market.
