A study by 2C2P by Antom reveals that South-east Asia's e-commerce market is projected to reach US$289.8 billion by 2029, with a CAGR of 13.2% from 2024 to 2029. Digital payments will dominate, accounting for 97% of transactions, up from 89% in 2024. Domestic payments are expected to nearly double to US$92 billion, while mobile wallet transactions will grow to US$79 billion. SMEs are anticipated to contribute 58% of total e-commerce by 2029, despite challenges in digital payment adoption.
