Lightwave Logic, Inc. focuses on the development and commercialization of electro-optic polymer materials for data communications and other photonic application...
LWLG closed the regular session up 1.84% at $4.695, driven by the demonstration of its electro-optic polymer integrated into an optical transceiver at Hon Hai Tech Day, alongside a 3.6% jump in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index that revived AI hardware sentiment. The stock reached $4.876 pre-market and $4.930 at 09:44 ET before fading through the afternoon toward $4.675-$4.695, ending roughly 4.8% below the intraday high, with post-market prints at $4.680 on 6,886 shares and full-day volume near 1.18 million. Fundamentals remain early-stage: Q2 2026 revenue of $32,751 rose 27.91% year over year, but net loss widened 33.16% to $6.61 million, EPS was -$0.0431 and ROE -28.52%, leaving a clear gap between revenue scale and expense base. The company has scheduled its third-quarter results for Tuesday, and director Edward H. Kennedy received 64,724 restricted stock units. Though weekly recaps earlier logged a 20.12% single-week decline, near-term moves remain driven by headlines and sentiment.
Lightwave Logic closed up roughly 12% at $4.60, lifting from $4.07 in pre-market to a $4.29 open, dipping to $4.21 and then grinding to a $4.63 intraday peak before post-market prints touched $4.707 and settled back at $4.60 on 2.88 million shares and a 1.89% turnover rate. The advance came from a volume-backed intraday push plus spillover AI-optics enthusiasm: Lumentum said AI-related parts are sold out through early 2029, lifting LITE, COHR and AAOI and pulling this electro-optic polymer small cap along. Fundamentals remain thin, with Q2 2026 revenue of just $32,751 up 27.91% year over year while the net loss widened 33.16% to $6.61 million and EPS came in at -$0.0431, leaving a $709 million market value at 6.8x book and -30.09x earnings. The stock is up 25.68% year to date yet still 75.41% below its May 13 52-week high of $18.709 and under both the $4.662 MA20 and the $5.542 MA60; a third-quarter earnings call is scheduled, though a 20.12% single-week decline earlier this month shows how thin liquidity amplifies sentiment.
Lightwave Logic fell 6.8% on Thursday to $4.13, extending a weekly pullback after declines of 12.81% and 20.12% in the prior two weeks. Pre-market it touched $4.40, then slipped to $4.075 intraday before rebounding to a session high of $4.43 at 11:30 ET; that level failed to hold and the stock closed at $4.13, with after-hours flat at $4.130. An ECOC 2026 live demo at Stand 1461 and the appointment of Edward H. Kennedy to the board did not shift flows. Fundamentals remain divergent: Q2 2026 revenue of just $32,751 rose 27.91% yoy, yet the net loss widened 33.16% to $6.61 million and EPS was -$0.0431. On price positioning, the shares are still up 12.84% YTD but sit 77.93% below the 52-week high of $18.709 and under MA20 of $4.80 and MA60 of $5.652, though still 45.42% above the 52-week low of $2.84.
LWLG closed up 6.5% at $4.43 in a spike-and-fade session, driven by a rebound in optical-communications sentiment: Lumentum's CEO said AI-related component orders are sold out through early 2029, lifting LITE, COHR and AAOI and pushing the stock to an intraday high of $4.514 before it settled at $4.44, with post-market flat at $4.43. The move follows two weekly declines of 20.12% and 12.81%. The company also hosted a live demo at Stand 1461 of ECOC 2026. Fundamentals remain early-stage: Q2 2026 revenue of just $32,751, up 27.91% yoy, with a net loss of $6.61M that widened 33.16% yoy and EPS of -$0.0431. The shares are up 21.04% year to date yet sit below the MA20 of 4.857 and MA60 of 5.672, and 76.32% under the 52-week high of $18.709 while still 55.99% above the $2.84 low. Though PB of 6.55 and a negative PE leave no earnings support.
LWLG closed Tuesday up 4.80% at $4.15 after a low-open, steady-climb session: it gapped down to $3.825, bottomed at $3.809, then rallied to an intraday high of $4.190 at 15:31 ET and held near $4.138 after hours on 3.47 million shares. The move rode a photonics-sector bid — after Lumentum's CEO said AI optical components are sold out through early 2029, LITE, COHR and AAOI all surged, lifting this electro-optic polymer (Perkinamine) supplier; company news added Edward H. Kennedy to its board and featured a live demo at ECOC 2026, Stand 1461. Fundamentals still lag: Q2 2026 revenue of $32,751 rose 27.91% year over year, yet net loss widened 33.16% to $6.61 million, operating loss worsened 41.53%, and EPS of -$0.0431 leaves PE at -27.15. The stock is up 13.39% YTD but sits 77.82% below its May 13 52-week high of $18.709 and under both MA20 ($4.899) and MA60 ($5.694). Though weekly recaps show a 20.12% single-week drawdown earlier this month, the durability of this bounce is untested.

Sorry but I’m convinced $Lightwave Logic(LWLG.US) is the current $Rigetti Computing(RGTI.US) of photonics.
I have zero clue… How they’re valued at $1.8B.Foxconn’s optical arm Shunsin, for $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) CPO packaging, assembly, and testing…Is valued less at $1.4B?$SIVERS SEMICONDUCTORS AB(SIVEF.US), the laser source for $Jabil(JBL.US) and $Marvell Tech(MRVL.US) was 1/3rd their valuation earlier this week?Feels like dumb money institutions went into the wrong name off a development test agreement.I have no open positions, just confusedSource: Serenity
$ALRIB is starting to grow on me.
First they have $Microsoft(MSFT.US) Quantum as their core hyperscaler customer. Then they have Quantum Dot like QD Laser… and photonics foundries like $IQE as customers. And it’s profitable + paying dividends…And a genuine duopoly in the MBE space. And accelerating order book growth with a new breakthrough in silicon photonics machines..I keep comparing $Lightwave Logic(LWLG.US) with stuff like Riber, then I keep thinking:Isn’t this just highly compelling at current prices?Source: Serenity
