One area where China is quickly building up internal local capacity is photomasks.
I am told there are ~20 new photomask shops in China. They are most likely to reach requisite quality first on mature node photomasks and will supply local mature node foundries.The data indicates that through Feb there is a continued inflow of photomask manufacturing equipment into China. Stocks to watch: $Photronics(PLAB.US) in the USA and #DNP and #Toppan in Japan who could be replaced by Chinese photomask suppliers Also watch:#Hoya in Japan who sell the photomask blanks and could benefit from having additional customersSource: Chips & Wafers
