Although they didn't do anything, at least it calmed market sentiment. It feels like they are telling everyone: "No worries, everything is within the expected range." However, Powell also said that "Trump has had some impact on the U.S. economy," which seems rather helpless.
Anyway, with Trump at the helm and the Fed cleaning up the mess, the market won't drop too much. But for individual companies, it will depend on their own performance. After all, even with Trump supporting Tesla, it can't save Tesla from its current slump.
