Amazon (AMZN) edged down 0.40% in today’s session, trading at $246.71 against my average cost of $247.761. I built this position to gain exposure to the firm’s cloud computing leadership and improving e-commerce operational efficiency. Today’s modest dip comes from broad market rebalancing among mega-cap tech shares rather than deterioration in Amazon’s business fundamentals.
This trade reminds me to separate temporary market trading flows from underlying company performance. Minor single-day drawdowns do not invalidate long-term investment logic anchored to durable competitive advantages.
On risk management, I allocate a fixed portion of capital to AMZN and avoid overtrading on trivial price moves. I will focus on quarterly AWS revenue and retail unit economics to evaluate holding performance, reserving position adjustments only for material shifts in fundamental trends.
