Cloudflare has introduced EmDash, an AI-driven rebuild of WordPress using TypeScript, aiming to enhance security and scalability. Developed over two months, EmDash integrates with the Astro framework and is open source under the MIT license. Unlike WordPress, EmDash is serverless and features sandboxed plugins for better security. While it includes a migration tool for content, replicating existing WordPress sites may require re-coding. Early supporters, like Joost de Valk, praise its AI-friendly design, though it currently lacks a plugin ecosystem and community support.
