I bought a put option expiring next Monday last night, and woke up to a huge loss. The original idea was to predict that the US-Iran negotiations would hardly make any substantial progress, betting on them falling apart. But given the current strong momentum of the US stock market, it's a bit difficult for negative news to have an impact. I took a small position hoping for an unexpected variable, purely as a speculative play. Honestly, as soon as you get involved with gambling, the outcome is mostly a loss.
