Next Week Preview: Powell's Finale

Next week is crucial! Powell's final Fed meeting coincides with a dense wave of US stock earnings reports. Let's preview the week ahead.

First, on Tuesday, Japan announces its interest rate decision. The market expects no change, hoping for no surprises.

Then, in the early hours of Thursday, the Fed's interest rate decision arrives. The market currently anticipates a 99% chance of no change, but more importantly is Powell's press conference. Barring any surprises, this will be his last meeting as Fed Chair. What will he say? Will there be any bombshell remarks? It's highly anticipated.

Following that, in the evening, we have interest rate decisions from the Bank of England and the European Central Bank to see if they will take a hawkish stance.

The core PCE data released at 8:30 is also very important, as it excludes volatile energy and food prices. As the Fed's most-watched inflation gauge, the market expects a slight rebound to 3.2%.

On the same evening, we also have the US Q1 GDP and PCE data.

On Friday, just keep an eye on the ISM Manufacturing PMI.

Finally, the heavy-hitting US earnings reports arrive. In the early hours of Thursday and Friday, a total of 6 tech giants are set to report. Each one is crucial, and their results will influence the direction of the tech sector. It's important to remember that a major reason for the recent rapid rebound in US stocks was high market expectations for their earnings. If their reports are good, the party continues. If not, a pullback is possible. Stay tuned.

Alright, I'll update the weekly preview every weekend. Thank you, everyone.
