36Kr learned from the National Immigration Administration that at the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang) 2025 Conference's Immigration Management Cooperation Sub-Forum held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, from January to August 2025, the national border inspection authorities cumulatively inspected 460 million entries and exits, an increase of 14.9% year-on-year; among them, 220 million were mainland residents, 180 million were residents from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, representing year-on-year increases of 15.4% and 11.2%, respectively; 51.268 million were foreigners, an increase of 27.8% year-on-year, of which 15.89 million were visa-free foreign entrants, accounting for 62.1% of incoming foreigners, a year-on-year increase of 52.1%
