The central parity rate of the Renminbi was raised by 56 points, reported at 7.0064 against the US dollar, reaching a high not seen in over two and a half years. The People's Bank of China today (15th) conducted a 1,793 billion Renminbi (the same below) seven-day reverse repurchase operation, with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 40 billion reverse repos are maturing, resulting in a net injection of 1,753 billion. On the same day, the central bank will conduct a 900 billion buyout reverse repurchase operation.

The three major indices of A-shares opened lower. The Shanghai Composite Index opened at 4,106 points, down 0.5% or 19 points. The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 14,158 points, down 89 points or 0.6%. The ChiNext Index opened down 31 points or 0.9%, reported at 3,318 points.

Banking stocks such as Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) and China Construction Bank (601939.SH) opened down 0.1% and 0.3%, respectively. In addition, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (300750.SZ) opened down 0.4%. BYD Company Limited (002594.SZ) opened flat.

CITIC Securities Co., Ltd. (600030.SH) opened up 0.5%, with its performance report indicating that its net profit last year increased by 38.5% year-on-year to 30.051 billion. CITIC Bank (601998.HK) opened down 0.4%, with its performance report showing that its net profit last year reached 70.618 billion, a year-on-year growth of 2.98%.

Chip stocks were soft, with Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (688981.SH) and Hua Hong Semiconductor (688347.SH) opening down 0.8% and 1.8%, respectively. AI chip stock Cambricon Technologies Corporation Limited (688256.SH) opened down 1.3%. Domestic GPU stocks such as Muxi Co., Ltd. (688802.SH) and Moore Threads (688795.SH) opened down 0.6% and 1.2%, respectively.

Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. (600058.SH) plans to conduct an asset swap with its controlling shareholder, and its stock hit the daily limit upon resuming trading today. GUOXIN MICRO (002049.SZ) plans to acquire 100% equity of Ruineng Semiconductor, and its stock also hit the daily limit upon resuming trading today
