Korean Air and 4 other airlines will ban the use of power banks in the cabin next Monday

South Korea's Hanjin Group announced that its subsidiary Korean Air and a total of five airlines will completely ban the use of power banks in the cabin, effective next Monday (26th).

The five airlines include Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul, which will prohibit charging electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and digital cameras on domestic and international flights.

However, power banks that meet the capacity and regulations can still be brought into the cabin, but passengers must cover the metal charging ports with insulating tape or place them in separate sealed bags. All power banks are prohibited from being placed in the overhead compartments and can only be carried with them or stored under the seat
