Image credit: CnEVPost)</figcaption></figure><p>Chinese battery maker Gotion High-tech (SHE: 002074) has largely completed the design of its 2-GWh all-solid-state battery mass production line as it accelerates the commercialization of next-generation batteries.</p><p>Gotion mentioned this progress on Monday in response to an investor inquiry without providing further details. The two parties signed an agreement in Hefei to jointly develop high-performance core materials for solid-state batteries.</p><p>Gotion is making a major bet on solid-state battery technology, and this transformation holds significant importance for the Hefei-based manufacturer.</p><p>Once an industry leader, Gotion was overtaken by CATL (HKG: 3750, SHE: 300750) and BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) after missing the opportunity presented by ternary lithium batteries.</p><p>Throughout 2025, CATL (HKG: 3750, SHE: 300750) and BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) held 39.2% and 16.4% of the global EV battery market share, respectively, according to data from South Korean market research firm SNE Research.
