The source indicated that as part of the deal, these private equity firms will invest about $1 billion in equity, but also cautioned that the relevant terms, including the amount, may still be adjusted, and a final agreement has not yet been reached.

The person also stated that this transaction will help promote OpenAI's enterprise-level product Frontier.
