The software industry in mainland China experienced steady revenue growth in the first two months, while the total profit growth momentum has slowed down

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the operational situation of the software industry for the first two months of 2026, showing that the software and information technology service industry in mainland China is performing well, with steady growth in software business revenue, a slowdown in total profit growth, and rapid growth in software business exports. During this period, software business revenue reached 2.15 trillion yuan (RMB), a year-on-year increase of 11.7%. The total profit of the software industry was 269.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%. Software business exports amounted to 10.38 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%.

Revenue from information technology services maintained double-digit growth. During this period, information technology service revenue reached 1.45 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%, accounting for 67.2% of the total industry revenue. Among them, cloud computing and big data services generated a total revenue of 280.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%, accounting for 19.4% of information technology service revenue; integrated circuit design revenue was 63.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%; and e-commerce platform technology service revenue was 179.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%
