
China Passenger Car Association: In March, the retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles in mainland China fell by 21% year-on-year but increased by 69% month-on-month
The China Passenger Car Market Information Joint Conference announced that preliminary statistics show that in March, the national retail sales of new energy vehicles reached 784,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 21%, but a month-on-month increase of 69%. Cumulatively, there have been 1.844 million retail sales this year, a year-on-year decrease of 24%. In March, the wholesale of new energy vehicles by manufacturers reached 1.126 million units, remaining flat year-on-year and increasing by 56% month-on-month. Cumulatively, there have been 2.716 million wholesale sales this year, a year-on-year decrease of 5%. The retail penetration rate for new energy vehicles in March was 47.3%, while the wholesale penetration rate for manufacturers was 48.6%.
The data also shows that in March, the national retail sales of passenger cars reached 1.657 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 15%, but a month-on-month increase of 60%. Cumulatively, there have been 4.236 million retail sales this year, a year-on-year decrease of 17%. In March, the wholesale of passenger cars by manufacturers reached 2.32 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 4%, but a month-on-month increase of 53%. Cumulatively, there have been 5.813 million wholesale sales this year, a year-on-year decrease of 8%
