Sun Liangjie, Deputy Chief Designer of Lijian-1, told reporters that over more than ten flight missions, Lijian-1 has successfully completed multi-satellite separation tasks ranging from launching three satellites to 26 satellites at once. It can adapt to satellites with different layouts, shapes, and special requirements.
Sun Liangjie stated that the company has now developed a collaborative design method for efficient and rapid satellite-rocket separation timing, attitude adjustment calculation, and control schemes. It has designed universal layout methods such as series expansion, top-push parallel connection, and side-hanging cylindrical segments, as well as various satellite-rocket electrical interfaces including satellite separation power-on, in-orbit electrical separation, and pre-launch plug removal and detachment. These can satisfy diverse technical requirements for satellites, allowing feasible satellite-rocket separation schemes to be quickly generated once the combined launch plan is confirmed.
Meng Xiangfu, Deputy Commander of Lijian-1, introduced that the Lijian-1 launch vehicle currently achieves an annual production capacity of over 10 units. The integration and testing cycle has been shortened to one month. Adopting a pulse-style, rhythm-based production mode, rocket production is divided into several fixed workstations, each with specified operation times. Multiple rockets move synchronously to the next workstation according to the rhythm. Rockets are also broken down into standard modules, which are produced independently and then assembled. Applying digital management and automated equipment, this approach solves pain points in mass production such as coordination difficulties, low efficiency, chaotic data, and high quality risks.
Meng Xiangfu further noted that this model, centered on rhythm-based movement, parallel operations, and modular integration, integrates innovations in automation, digitization, flexibility, and standardization. In the future, it will achieve an annual production capacity of 30 units.
With the normalized operation of the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone, what are the subsequent plans for Lijian-1 launches? Meng Xiangfu stated that the order response cycle for the Lijian-1 launch vehicle has been shortened from eight months last year to within six months. This cycle covers the entire process from customer signing to readiness for launch, placing it at an efficient level in the commercial launch market. This improvement mainly relies on rolling production at the basic rocket level, along with integration and testing, while significantly compressing the production cycles for satellite-rocket electrical and structural products.
Relying on CAS Space's dedicated launch pads and technical workshops in the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone, Lijian-1 has achieved scheduled operations, compressing the launch site testing and launch cycle to 10 days. With subsequent increases in launch density, the first sea launch will also be implemented to adapt to the needs of low-inclination satellite missions.
On March 30, the CAS Space Lijian-2 Y1 launch vehicle, named 'International Textile Capital', was successfully launched in the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone, precisely placing the Xin Zheng Cheng 01 satellite, Xin Zheng Cheng 02 satellite, and Tian Shi Satellite 01 into their designated orbits. The maiden flight mission achieved complete success.
In recent years, CAS Space has focused on market demand to build the Lijian series launch vehicle product matrix. The Lijian-1 launch vehicle has a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit payload capacity of 1.5 tons, focusing on batch launches of small satellites. The Lijian-2 launch vehicle has a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit payload capacity of 8 tons, supporting the rapid deployment of China's low-earth orbit internet constellations. The Lijian-2 launch vehicle can achieve an annual production capacity of 20 units.
