Murata Launches Ultra-Low Power AMR Sensors to Boost Battery Life in Healthcare and Wearables Devices

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has launched mass production of its MRMS166R and MRMS168R anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) sensors, designed for healthcare, wearables, and IoT devices. The MRMS166R features an average current consumption of 20 nA and operates from a 1.2 V supply, enhancing battery life in coin cell-powered systems. These sensors enable contactless switching, improving reliability and supporting miniaturized designs. They are suitable for various applications, including medical patches and AR glasses, and are compactly packaged for space-constrained designs. Murata aims to expand its AMR sensor lineup to further reduce power consumption.
