Glassnode has reported that approximately 10% of Bitcoin's supply, equating to around 1.92 million BTC, is structurally insecure due to certain outputs that inherently expose public keys. According to NS3.AI, this issue primarily affects P2PK outputs from the Satoshi Nakamoto era, legacy P2MS structures, and P2TR outputs. Glassnode has pointed to the proposed BIP-360, which introduces P2MR as a quantum-resistant wallet format, offering a voluntary migration path to enhance security.
