China Telecom touts country-first AI models based on MoE architecture and Huawei chips
China Telecom has launched the first AI models in China using the Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture, trained on Huawei's advanced chips. The TeleChat3 models, with parameters ranging from 105 billion to trillions, aim to address challenges in large-scale model training. Despite their innovation, they still lag behind OpenAI's GPT-OSS-120B in performance. Meanwhile, the Chinese tech stock index has risen nearly 13% this month, while Nvidia's stock has dropped due to restrictions on chip shipments to China.
